Organised by the Mid North Coast Chapter of the Harley Owners Groups, the run is open to all makes and models of bikes, with riders from all over the Hastings and beyond invited to take part.

The ride will leave the Laurieton United Services Club at 11am with all rides heading to Westport Park in Port Macquarie for a barbecue and presentation.

Organiser of the ride Chris Jackson said the ride was about a group of like minded people giving back to people in need.

“The ride is open to all types of bikes as long as their are registered and roadworthy,” Mr Jackson said.

“We are hoping to see lots of toy donations this year but in particular we would like to see more gift cards for the older children and of course any cash donations are more than welcome.

“It is a chance for us to gt out on our bikes and do something to help others.”

Greg Cocking from the Salvation Army said any efforts to assist the Salvation Army at Christmas time was welcomed and appreciated.

“The toy ride is just one of the events that members in our community participate in so that we can help struggling families at Christmas,” Mr Cocking said.

“The whole aim of the ride is to raise money and collect gifts for children and families so that when Christmas Day comes around they can share in the festive season like everyone else.

“We are so grateful to all the community groups and members of the public who give so generously so that we can help others.

“We could not do what we do without the support of the community and for that we say thank you.”

In the Hastings the Salvation Army helps more than 150 families at a time.
