On Saturday November 17, Wauchope Showground will come alive with a huge motorcycle Show n Shine, a Motorcycle Swap Meet, a Tattoo Show, and the very popular Motorcycle Gymkhana, a display of riding skills.

The Oxley Bicentennial Event for Motorcycle Friendly Town Wauchope was held last Saturday at Gingers Creek Roadhouse.
More than 50 motorbikes rode the Oxley, and had a breakfast catch-up to celebrate 200 years since John Oxley led an expedition to trace the course from inland to the coast.
The Oxley Highway between Wauchope and Walcha is considered to be one of the best rides in Australia.
“Wauchope is NSW's first Motorcycle Friendly Town and in conjunction with the Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Port Macquarie Hastings Council, we look for ways to increase visitation to Wauchope and encourage as many riders to stay and enjoy our area and this unique ride experience,” said Jenny Pursehouse.
Certificates were handed out to riders who had come from not only Wauchope, Port Macquarie and the Camden Haven, but also as far as Taree, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Werris Creek and Newcastle.
A group of riders from as far away as Warnambool in Victoria were passing through on a road trip and they also enjoyed the friendly Wauchope welcome.
The event was attended by the ladies from the Historical Society dressed in period costume, who were one of the highlights of the event, and they gave riders some very interesting information and stories from John Oxley’s expedition.
Wauchope motorcyclists recently had a very successful fundraising event for local rider Guy Winnall, who was involved in a serious vehicle incident in July in which he was not at fault.

“It shows the commitment of the motorcycle community in looking after their own,” said Todd Taylor.
The amount raised from the Selfie Scavenger Hunt day was $5798.
Todd Taylor organised and ran the event. A lot of local businesses were very generous with their support by way of raffle and auction prizes.
