The airline replaced Virgin Australia on the direct Port Macquarie-Brisbane route in a codeshare deal with Virgin Australia.
Alliance Airlines chief executive officer Lee Schofield said overall they were very pleased with the support received from the community.
“Not surprisingly, demand for flights to and from Port Macquarie is seasonal and we continue to work on strategies to drive more demand at quieter times of year, which will hopefully also flow through to the broader Port Macquarie and region economy,” he said.
Mr Schofield said Alliance Airlines regularly received positive feedback about its jet service, the only regular jet operating into Port Macquarie, on-time performance and the great service offered on board by the crew.
Airline Airlines encourages Port Macquarie residents to consider Brisbane as an option for concerts, shows, shopping and sporting events.
“Access to these events is far easier in Brisbane with better traffic, consistently great weather and cheaper accommodation,” Mr Schofield said.
“Combined with the Alliance Airlines jet service and additional holiday opportunities with the Gold and Sunshine coasts a short distance away, we believe Brisbane is the best and most economical alternative for a trip away to the big smoke.”
Alliance Airlines has introduced a few promotional fares for the Port Macquarie-Brisbane route.
Mr Schofield said Alliance Airlines was aware access to affordable airfares was very important to residents living in regional areas.
“By offering a range of discounted airfares, we hope that it will give more residents the opportunity to travel to Brisbane for a show, to visit friends and relatives, attend appointments or connect to an international flight or cruise,” he said.
Mr Schofield said the airline’s on-time performance was industry-leading at around 95 percent across all of its routes.
The airline is committed to working alongside Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, tourism bodies and the community to ensure the Port Macquarie-Brisbane flights continue.
Meanwhile, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is amid an almost $10 million upgrade to the Port Macquarie Airport terminal building.
Alliance Airlines, Virgin Australia and QantasLink operate flights from the airport.
