Meteorologists are predicting maximum temperatures are likely to swing by as much as 10 degrees between Tuesday and Thursday this week.
The forecast also suggests that the Port Macquarie-Hastings is likely to see some heavy rainfall between Tuesday evening and throughout Wednesday. Predictions point to somewhere between 15 to 25mm of rain is possible.
Meteorologist with weatherzone Jacob Cronje said humid and muggy conditions will also feature in the early part of the week.
"Monday's maximum temperature will climb to about 28 degrees and that heat will remain overnight with a minimum on Tuesday of around 19 degrees," he said.
"Things will start to really heat up a bit into Tuesday with a maximum of 31 degrees. And things could start feeling a bit uncomfortable too with some showers overnight.
"That will see Wednesday morning feel very muggy and humid."
It is likely that a cold front will push its way up the coast bringing significant rainfall to large parts of NSW.
Mr Cronje said this rainfall will be quite widespread.

Thursday's minimum will be just 14 degrees with a maximum of 21 degrees.
Showers will begin to clear throughout Thursday with lighter showers and windy conditions likely from the south.
Friday morning's minimum is 13 degrees with a maximum of 23 degrees through the day.
Out to sea, on Monday we should have seas below 1 metre on 1 to 1.5m swell from the south.
Tuesday seas to 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning. The swell is from the south around 1 metre.
By Wednesday, northerly winds 15 to 25 knots will pick up during the afternoon then tending south to southwesterly during the evening.
Seas will be 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres offshore north of Port Macquarie during the morning.
The swell will be around 1 metre increasing to 1 to 2 metres during the afternoon or evening.
