North Coast will join Western and Central North zones in the northern pool.
Each team will play each other once, with the highest ranked team to play the highest-ranked southern pool team at a later date to determine the country champions.
Smith was set to be joined by club mate Darren Bourke, but a bout of reactive arthritis has seen the RSL ‘keeper withdraw.
“It’s a bit disappointing I’ve had to pull out this weekend, but there isn’t much I can do about it,” Bourke said.
Bourke was going to take his place behind the stumps before he woke up in pain a few weeks ago and the injury gradually became worse.
“It’s in my right foot, left knee and a little bit of my back,” he said.
It is unknown how long the former Western Suburbs grade cricketer will be out for following tests in the last week.
“They said it could be a week or a month – it just depends how my body reacts to the anti-inflammatories,” Bourke said.
“Hopefully I’ll mend pretty quickly and be back out on the field playing and enjoying my cricket for Wauchope.”
