Bron, an ambassador for the 2018 Mother’s Day Classic and a speaker at the 2018 Pink High Tea on October 27, said since finishing treatment a few months ago she is now “living an anti-cancer lifestyle”.
“My active treatment is over but at the end of the day you are only as good as you are on the day so I try to live each day like I don’t know what is coming. And frankly my cancer could come back tomorrow,” Bron said.
“I can’t say I am cured but I do say I am living an anti-cancer lifestyle and after my cancer treatment I see this as the next chapter in my life.
“To me that is all about eating right, exercising and living life in second gear.
“I am not taking myself or life too seriously and I am taking time for my family and myself because I honestly don’t know what will happen next.”
Bron said she would love to see a sold out event for this year’s Pink High Tea.
“The high tea is all about supporting those currently going through cancer, celebrating the people who have finished their treatment and honouring those who have passed away.
“It is so important to get together to support, celebrate and honour because cancer can be isolating and to know the community are supporting you is so valuable.”

Bron said despite not wishing cancer on her worst enemy, she is grateful for the lessons she has learned since her cancer diagnosis.
“I have scars and I am now allergic to too many things to name, but I am alive, I have a great family and I just keep thinking everyday without chemo is a great day,” she said.
“I am embracing each and every day that comes. I have done everything possible to ensure I live a long and happy life but nothing is certain.
“I have to hope for the best because you can’t control the rest and that is what I will continue to do.
“But right the way through from diagnosis to now I have been determined that this will not define me, and if my diagnosis has taught me anything it is that when faced with something like this, you suddenly see what is really important.”

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Carmen Abi-Saab, local Mother’s Day Classic co-event manager said the Pink High Tea aims to bring people from the local community together and put the spotlight on the disease.
The event will contribute to the volunteer crew’s ongoing fundraising efforts for breast cancer research.
“It will be an opportunity for people to enjoy a great afternoon with friends and family,” Ms Abi-Saab said.
“The Westport Club team has designed a delicious menu of sweet and savoury treats just for our event.
“People can enjoy their High Tea with a glass of bubbles, tea or coffee, listen to some live entertainment, and hear from some inspirational locals about their own experiences with breast cancer.
“Plus we’ll have lucky door prizes, fun activities, raffles and a silent auction – all helping to raise funds.”
