About 6.30pm on Wednesday October 10, 2018, emergency services were called to a house on Ocean View Terrace, after reports of a fire.
The home was unoccupied and there have been no reports of injuries.
The blaze was extinguished by Fire & Rescue NSW; however, the house was significantly damaged.
Officers from Mid North Coast Police District established a crime scene and are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
Initial inquiries suggest the offenders damaged the inside of the home prior to lighting the fire. Police believe they would have suffered burns, which may appear as sunburn and/or singed hair.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area overnight to come forward.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages.
