Foreshore improvement: Funding is committed for a fishermen's wharf project in Port Macquarie.

Work is continuing behind the scenes on the fisherman's wharf project 12 months after a funding announcement.

The state government has committed $2.8 million for the project.

A spokesperson for Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said Crown Lands was working to confirm project details and further announcements would be made by the NSW Government in due course.

The foreshore project, as previously announced, will involve the construction of a boardwalk, public wharf, unloading jetty and moorings on the Hastings River near Kooloonbung Creek.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian joined Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams at the site of the former Hastings River Fishermen's Co-op 12 months ago for the funding announcement.
