After decent rain over the weekend, meteorologist Jacob Cronje said the rain is expected to continue throughout the last week of the October school holidays.
“It was great to see some decent rain over the Port Macquarie-Hastings region over the weekend and the good news is the rain is expected to linger for a while longer,” Mr Cronje said.
“We are anticipating another good rainfall on Wednesday with potential thunder inland from Port Macquarie and then more decent rain on Friday and across the weekend.
“At this stage it is tricky to estimate exactly how much rain is likely to fall in the coastal showers but inland there is the potential for up to 20-30mm.”
Mr Cronje said the coastal showers are also expected to fall in the Wauchope and Camden Haven region.
“Right across the Hastings region we can expect a second helping of rain into the weekend after Wednesday’s rainfall in Port Macquarie, Wauchope and the Camden Haven,” he said.
“But at this stage we could also possibly see showers each day this week.”
He also said added cloud cover will keep temperatures no higher than 25 degrees during the day.
“People should expect temperatures to stay below 25 degrees this week with overnight temperatures around 10 degrees.
“However if the cloud cover lifts temperatures may drop south of eight degrees overnight.
“But overall what we are going to be experiencing is typical spring weather as we transition between the seasons.”
