On Wednesday, October 3, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s co-working space The HUB pop-up will host a lunchtime and evening talk by inspiring entrepreneur, business owner and Small Business Rules author, Mathew Dickerson.
After entertaining an audience of over 100 people during Back to Business Week in 2017, Mathew is back in town to share some of his top tips for small business success in his engaging and entertaining style.
Group manager Liesa Davies said small businesses play an invaluable role in driving the growth of the Hastings economy.
“We have around 7,000 small to medium-sized businesses in our region providing many and varied jobs, and goods and services for our growing community,” Ms Davies said.
“Council is excited to support NSW Small Business Month and these great opportunities for local businesses and budding entrepreneurs to come together, and celebrate their contribution to our region.”
Mathew Dickerson is a business owner who started a small IT company in the 80s, tried new things, learnt the hard way, changed business models and created a successful small business.
“I can’t wait to connect with local business owners, and once again be part of Small Business Month in Port Macquarie,” Mr Dickerson said.
“I’ve learnt a lot about myself and growing a small business over the last 30 years, like how to overcome the day-to-day challenges of managing staff. It’s great to be able to share these tips with other motivated business owners.”
The Wauchope Chamber of Commerce will also be celebrating Small Business Month, holding a Small Business Expo at 6pm on Monday, October 15 at the Wauchope Country Club.
Mathew Dickerson’s talks will take place at The HUB in Port Macquarie on Wednesday, October 3. Tickets are $10. For more information and to buy tickets, visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/small-business-month
