The preschool educators were eager to share the message of literacy being universal to all learning opportunities and experiences.
“To instil a love of reading is to instil a love of learning, and lifelong learning is something we aim to support at preschool and into the future,” said educational leader Amy Trotter.
“Reading one bedtime story to your child every night before bed equates to almost two thousand stories shared by the time children start formal schooling. What an incredible start to a learning journey.”
Portside preschool providers recognised the importance of reading, and gifted each child with a book to mark the special occasion.
Families attended to share in the children’s dress up parade, and enjoy the opportunity to spend quality time reading and having morning tea with the children and educators.
