Brockman proved too good for Shayden Schrader, Jones Russell and Mitch Atherton in the open final.
Port Macquarie Bodyboarding Association president Clayton Pickworth said it wasn’t a surprise result.
“Brodie has been a really good rider from around here for many years and he’s sponsored by big companies,” he said.
“He surfed really well and did big inverts and things like that.
“I wouldn’t say it was a surprise, but there were some pretty big names in there and he had his work cut out.”
Pickworth said competitors made the most of the heavy conditions, with one Sunshine Coast surfer registering a perfect 10 in the masters semi-final.
“It was really heavy which was good for bodyboarding,” he said.
“We had offshore winds all day, and really good groom conditions.
“The swell was probably a little bit straight for Lighthouse and a solid three-foot, but there were some cracking waves on low-tide.
“It was decent for around here.”
The next competition for PMBA is their annual club day which will be held on Sunday at Town Beach or Lighthouse Beach.
