Hastings cat lovers shared photos of their feline friends to celebrate 2018 International Cat Day.
International Cat Day is celebrated on August 8 every year. It was created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
According to the 2017 Guinness Book of World Records the fattest cat on record was Himmy, a feline owned by Thomas Vyse of Australia. Himmy weighed 21.3kg when it died on March 12, 1986.
The cat giving birth to the most kittens was a Texan dame named Dusty. She gave birth to 420 kittens before she died (most likely of exhaustion) in 1952.
The longest cat whiskers, 18cms in length, belong to Missi, a Maine coon who lives in Finland.
The oldest cat record belongs to Creme Puff.
Ms Puff of Texas was born in 1967 and lived for 38 years and three days before calling it a day.
