The Women’s Golf Central North Coast tournament began on Tuesday, August 7 and 160 golfers were expected to play each day.
The ladies were blessed by the sun gods which made for pleasant play on the first day of the event.
Local organiser Pam McRae said the tournament would showcase the area and in particular the Kew Country Club course.
The days are split into different divisions across 18 holes for stroke play, stableford and foursomes.
There will be a presentation night on Wednesday, August 8 at the Laurieton United Services Club.
Pam said the local branch of the WGCNC applied to host the tournament in July, 2015.
“The opportunity to host a tournament doesn’t come around very often,” she said.
“We were over the moon when we were told.”
The Kew Ladies Golf Club is open to new members.
“We’re one of the smallest clubs but we’re bound to be one of the happiest,” Pam said.
Pam invites women to join, meet new people and get active by playing a good game of golf.
