But it rang true for the Kendall Blues on Saturday as they set up another cross-town showdown with rivals Laurieton following a 64-4 belting of Lower Macleay.
Last week they were bruised, battered and limped into the match, but now they will head into next weekend’s clash with the Stingrays full of confidence.
On the line will be a spot in the grand final.
Captain-coach Beau Kettle couldn't be prouder of the efforts of his team.
“Every team will encounter a loss,” he said.
“It just depends on how the team regroups and plays the next week which shows what they are made of.
“Some losses are a blessing in disguise.
“The Kendall Blues came out of last weekend with a win, their confidence back and no injuries.”
The Blues took a 26-4 lead to the break following a first-half double to Matt Hensley, while Brad Smith, Joel Wilkes and Jed Seymour also crossed.
The points kept flowing in the second half as Seymour crossed for his second, while James Kennedy also bagged a double and Kenny Young and Blayne Bignell also claimed four-pointers.
Smith added his name to the players to score two tries when he rounded out the scoring.
Everyone is encouraged to come and cheer on the Kendall Blues at Lank Bain Stadium, Wauchope.
The Kendall Blues would also like to invite everyone to their presentation night on September 1 at 6pm.
Tickets can be bought from Jo Wilson on 0401 168 898 before August 27.
