Natalie is one of the new team members for Can Too’s winter training program which is still accepting participants until Sunday July 22.
The group of 13 current team members is eyeing the Blackmores 10km Bridge Run on Sunday September 16, 2018 as its goal.
A regular on the Park Run five kilometre circuit each Saturday, Natalie was recommended to Can Too by a friend.
And her involvement in the training program and raising awareness and funds through Can Too is very personal.
“My dad had bowel cancer and my mum currently has ovarian cancer,” Natalie said.
“I really want to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
“Five kilometres is my limit but I know I can do it (the 10 kilometres). I love the challenge.
“I only started with the Can Too group last week but I’ve already noticed how supportive everyone is and they are certainly here to help each other.

“There is no pressure, at all,” she said.
Team captain Michael Daley says the Can Too concept of raising awareness, while raising funds for cancer research and getting fit is a win-win for everyone.
Part of the inaugural Can Too pod that competed in this year’s SMH half marathon, Michael says he was attracted to the structured training program
“I enjoyed it so much that I’ve come back as the team captain,” he said.
“We have the ethos that fundraising is fun and attitude is contagious.
“Can Too is very much about targeting problematic cancers too, which I support.”
Coach Jules Mackin is looking forward to more potential participants coming forward but said time was quickly running out.
“We can take participants until Sunday (July 22),” she said.
“Our aim is to get people up off the coach and running and enjoying life.
“I am really looking forward to having more people join us and be inspired by the chain of exercise.
