McCarthy and Cutcliffe started well winning the first two holes then Scaysbrook and Pollard won the fourth and eighth holes and after nine holes the match was all square.
Scaysbrook and Pollard won the 10th hole and then holes 11 through to 15 were halved.
Scaysbrook and Pollard won the 16th hole to go to two shots up.
McCarthy and Cutcliffe then won the 17th hole resulting in Scaysbrook and Pollard hitting off the 18th tee with a one-shot lead.
On the 18th McCarthy holed a putt for par leaving Scaysbrook and Pollard requiring a par to halve the hole and win the match.
They achieved a par and were declared the winners of the Uptin Knockout.
The competition consists of two-person teams and qualifying for this event occurred back on May 26.
There were 16 teams that qualified and the teams were placed into a seeded knockout draw.
The teams then proceeded to play match-play over the next four weeks resulting in the final being played on July 1.
The match was played in excellent spirits and at a high standard with pars and birdies required to win or halve each hole.
Each of the four players contributed throughout the final.
In particular Cutcliffe putted very well on the back nine sinking some very good putts on the 15th for a halve and again on the 17th to win the hole.
Cutcliffe also sank memorable putts on the 16th and 18th holes all to no avail on the outcome of those holes.
