More than 5000 records were on offer across the music genres and eras during the event at The Duck on Clarence.
Record collector and one of the event organisers, Jason Sherman, said there was a new wave.
He said vinyl had become more and more popular.
“At the end of the day, everybody loves music,” Mr Sherman said.
People stood shoulder to shoulder as they sifted through the records on offer.
The record fair attracted people of all ages.
Eager vinyl fans started to arrive at the record fair while the organisers were setting up.
People travelled from Newcastle to attend the inaugural event.
RAWR Music, Dark Alley Collectables and Hold Steady Records presented the Port Macquarie Record Fair.
