On July 2, she embarks on a life-changing four days of work experience with Boeing Defence Australia in Brisbane where she hopes to get a clearer picture of what her future holds.
The work placement came about after Stephanie was part of a scholarship program with the CSIRO.
Stephanie will be working with robots, coding and will be given the opportunity to look in-depth at flight simulators and how Boeing train their pilots.
"I originally wanted to be a pilot but decided to go down the path of an engineer instead," the year 12 student said.
"I'm hoping to get some hands-on experience, and to find out if it's something I want to pursue in the future. Hopefully I will have a clearer picture of that when I return."
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company within the Boeing Defense, Space and Security business unit, and is one of Australia’s leading aerospace enterprises.
"I'm really excited to do this because growing up I was always so interested in planes and the Boeing company itself," she said.
"I'm doing physics and maths at school, and I feel like I do a lot better in those subjects which will help me with my career.
"Looking into the future I'd be very happy to be doing anything in the fields of engineering or science."
