Since then they have had a three-week break which hasn’t impressed coach Rubens Camejo.
“It’s horrible because it breaks up the rhythm of preparation,” he said.
“You get a game like that and you want to keep going the next weekend because now the boys know they can score goals.”
Saints’ 21-day gap between games comes to an end on Saturday when they host Taree Wildcats.
Taree were also involved in a seven-goal fixture in their last encounter, but they picked the ball out of the back of their net.
Camejo hopes Saints’ mid-season holiday won’t interrupt any momentum they created from having seven different goalscorers on June 2.
“They were a bit gun shy earlier in the season and were not taking chances when they could,” he said.
“We are a quality side and we have proven that.”
The Saints coach has focused on “sharpening up” his players at training where they have also lifted their intensity.
“The first half of the season was a horror stretch and this weekend is where the competition starts,” he said.
“We have eight games to go and if we pick up the majority of our points we’ll get into the finals.
“Once that happens, it’s a different ball game.”
The Saints coach will have an almost full-strength squad at his disposal where a win will move them to within two points of the Wildcats who are currently fifth.
First grade kicks off at 3pm on Saturday with reserve grade at 1.15pm at Findlay Park.
