Showcasing the variety that different choirs can bring to an audience, the Hastings Choristers will also be joined by Wingsong from Wingham, SoRomantic from Bellingen, Company of Voices from Forster-Tuncurry, and Port Macquarie choirs Bel Canto, Cantorus and Cantabile.
The audience can expect light, bright, easy-listening music as well as the technical brilliance of classical pieces with their beautiful harmonies.
The aim of the concert is to share the joy of singing and demonstrate the advantages of belonging to a choir.
“Social and health benefits abound when people come together to sing their hearts out. Choirs celebrate diversity as members can be any age and from any background, the common factor being their love of singing and performing together,” Colleen Smee said.
“It is a real coup for our community, securing The Hunter School of Performing Arts Senior Choir to perform in the Kaleidoscope Concert in Port Macquarie.
“The choir has a reputation for musical excellence and a wide repertoire of music styles, so it is a rare treat to be able to attend a local concert to hear this wonderful choir, as well as all the amazing mid coast choirs.”
The Kaleidoscope Concert is on Sunday, June 24 at the Uniting Church Port Macquarie at 2pm.
Tickets are adults $20, $10 for under 18s, available at the Glasshouse box office or at the door of the venue before the concert.
The doors will open at 1.30pm.
