Five-eighth Larissa Ward had a day out, crossing for three tries and slotting three goals for good measure in Beechwood’s two games.
Fullback Mel Norup and prop forwards Megan Fealy and Angela White were also strong as the Shamrocks showed their class.
Organiser Belinda Anderson said Ward was one of the standouts.
“She was our star,” she said.
Norup was always a threat at the back in the round-robin format and not only did the Shamrocks not concede a point, they scored 44 of their own.
Each team played two 20 minute matches after the fourth team from Comboyne were forced to pull out of the competition.
The competition continues this Friday at Lank Bain Sports Complex.
“We want to ensure everyone gets an hour of footy so we will probably try and play 15 minute matches to start with,” Anderson said.
“We’ll see how fit everyone is and then extend the time each week.”
Anderson hopes to have a six-team competition next year after she admitted it had taken too long to organise this year’s competition.
“It’s unfortunate we started so late this year, but we’re still looking for players, but they must be 17 by June 30,” Anderson said.
“It’s the same as in the National Rugby League that players have to be registered before June 30.”
