The event is in Perth and covers the 42.2 kilometre distance.
Six of the group will compete in the individual category while two will compete in the relay covering 21.1km each. There is one support team member joining the group in Perth.
Sue Fitzgerald started her training started in January after the group signed up for the trip on Boxing Day.
Sue Fitzgerald is the sole member of the group to be facing their first full marathon.
She is looking forward to the race.
"The group met up through our local parkrun" Mrs Fitzgerald said.
"I've received some professional guidance and coaching from Port Macquarie-based Canberra marathon winner Kirsten Molloy.
"I have also buddied up with two seasoned marathon runners in Jon Binskin and David Mayes for race day. They have been very encouraging and helpful when the doubts about what have I signed myself up for have set in.
"I have always wanted to complete a full marathon before I turned 50, this event was a couple of years early but I was encouraged to just get it ticked off the list."
Although 'a little bit nervous' the first time marathon runner says she has worked consistently on her running and fitness.
That regime includes rising at 4.30am three times a week for weight sessions and running up to four times a week.
Her longest training run has been 32 kilometres, this was also earliest run, who knew you could find two other people to meet you at 4am for a run?
She is now beginning to taper off for the June 17 event.
I've been very lucky to have some wonderfully supportive running buddies that are always there for a run.

"I've been very lucky to have some wonderfully supportive running buddies that are always there for a run.
"I couldn't have got through all those early morning sessions and long runs without their help. A big thank you to Zoe and Ben Husk and Shannon Dawson.
"I have completed most of my long runs with my friend Sally Grech, we've just had a plan and have stuck to it, she's been a perfect training partner. This is her second marathon and I'm looking forward to running it with her on race day.
"I am looking forward to crossing the finish line,” she added.
Mrs Fitzgerald says she is inspired by watching runners in the club in action and hopes to be a role model for her two girls.
"My husband Jason is really supportive, and although the kids think that I'm 'out running again' I hope to show them that you need to work consistently to achieve your goals.
"It is also good to have that group support around you as well, our running club is filled runners achieving their goals and it is fabulous to watch everyone working towards achieving them."
Mrs Fitzgerald said the majority of the running club members met through Port Macquarie parkrun which started around three years ago.
"The club has over 100 members from all different fitness levels.
