The traditional street parade was cancelled due to poor weather conditions but that did nothing to dampen the spirits of the musicians from right across the country who had come to town to play.
Organiser Jacki Cooper said the entire weekend had been a phenomenal success.
“This year we have had more than 620 registered musicians take part in the Big Band Blast and many were in attendance at the auditorium at Panthers today,” Ms Cooper said.
“It was a real shame about the rain cancelling the street parade along the Port Macquarie foreshore, but I know everyone still had a blast jamming out together.
“It really has been a family friendly event with lots of younger children taking part in the weekend festivities.”
The jam session was just one of the many musical events happening in Port Macquarie over the weekend.
“The Big Band Conference is really a chance for musicians to come together and celebrate their love of music,” she said.
“There is no competition or prizes for the best player, it is just a chance for people to be together, learning something new and having fun.
“This year we have had people from Queensland, NSW, South Australia and Victoria come over and it has just be fantastic.”
