In honour of former student, Jacob Berry, his family along with the university started a scholarship for paramedic students to aid in their studies.
This was the first year a recipient of the award would be selected and on the night, Tahlia Rance, was announced as the inaugural scholarship winner.
The night also raised over $7000 for the Jacob Berry Memorial Scholarship.
Ruby Simmons, student liaison officer at CSU Port Macquarie said the ball is part memorial and tribute and part a celebration of the future of paramedics and paramedic students at CSU.
“The ball itself is a memorial Ball for CSU paramedic student Jacob Berry, who tragically passed away after graduating in 2016,” Ms Simmons said.
“The Ball is a chance to celebrate the paramedic students at CSU, and is open to all students, staff and Port Macquarie-Hastings community members.”
Ms Simmons said the night was a night to remember with food and drink flowing all evening.
“The theme this year was beach bling and everyone who came had a berry cocktail on arrival, and listened to live music by Chris Rose and DJ Jimmy Laing,” she said.
“We also raised over $7000 for the Jacob Berry Memorial Scholarship for future paramedic students which was fantastic.”
