An argument about the royal wedding sparked a fight that left one man in a coma, according to documents tendered to a Wagga court.

Michael Gerrard Bresnan, 64, was drinking with his 44-year-old neighbour at a Kooringal home on Saturday evening when Bresnan suggested they watch Prince Harry tie the knot with Meghan Markle.
“The victim expressed his disappointment in respect to the wishes of the accused. As a result, an argument ensued,” the police report stated.
The police report claimed the 44-year-old man pulled Bresnan’s television out of its socket, left the house momentarily, and later smashed it on a small table upon his return.
Police allege Bresnan then forced the victim out of the house, picked up a pair of bike handlebars, and struck him a number of times on the head.
Following the incident, the victim went into cardiac arrest twice, and was revived by paramedics on both occasions.
The victim arrived at Wagga Base Hospital in a critical condition and was placed in an induced coma.
A hospital spokeswoman said he is now in a stable condition.
Bresnan was arrested by police and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
