On Tuesday, May 22, 40 Omnicare Alliance Meals on Wheels Port Macquarie volunteers were thanked and recognised for their outstanding service across the region.
Of those attending, 15 volunteers were recognised for outstanding service and received a certificate of recognition on a thank you cruise along the Hastings River.
Recognition of service included 30 years, 20 years, 15 years and 10 years’ service.
A total 41 volunteers from 2017-2018 have been acknowledged for their volunteering contribution with Meals on Wheels Port Macquarie.
30 year service: Mary Bennett and Sharon Nicholson
20 year service: Frank and Roslyn Gawith, Anne Jackson, Mary Kiehne, Helen Anderson and Cheryl Grieve
15 year service: Cath Morton, Mary Middlebrook, David Ryan, Marleen and Ray White, Alison and Alf Wallis, Frank Urban, Pat Tickner, Patrina Griffiths, Margaret Fowler, Lesley Sargent, Margaret Smith, Stan and Margaret Prentice, Jenny Bartlett and Elizabeth Heywood
10 year service: Trish Popplewell, Rita and Ken Firth, Dennis Hooper, Janelle Bartho, Mayo and John Brumby, Annette Couttes, Penny Richmond, Jane Stephens, Jo Aliprandi, Pat Barnard, Barbara Dalley, Graham Connell, Carol McKinnon (Wauchope branch) and Kim McGrath (Wauchope branch).
Meals on Wheels Mid North Coast provides flexible meal options to help community members stay living independently in their own home.
The Port Macquarie office can also provide shopping assistance to those who require it.
Omnicare Alliance is a community aged, dementia and disability support provider on the Mid North Coast, following the merger between Hastings District Respite Care, Meals on Wheels MNC, Hastings Home Modifications and Parklands Cottage.
Omnicare Alliance provides services to the communities in Port Macquarie, Sawtell, Kempsey, Wauchope, Camden Haven, Taree and the Greater Lakes.
