Some of those issues include, noise, lighting, privacy for residents, traffic and flooding.
A report on the matter was tabled at Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's May meeting.
Councillor Mike Cusato said the matter needed to be 'wrapped up'.
"We need to get this wrapped up and get to the final design stage," he told the meeting.
Other issues raised from the 77 responses include, off-leash dog area, location of car parks, grandstand and cricket fields, storage, ancillary features and other sports.
The regional sports field are located on the corner of Stoney Creek Road and the Oxley Highway.
The fields will cater to touch football, cricket and football codes.
A club room, including grandstand, meeting room, amenities, canteen and kitchen and storage also form part of the sports fields.
Council was told the complex multi-disciplinary project is currently in the design phase.
"Some construction phase planning is underway with early planning for the Telstra utility relocation works complete and progressing with the acceptance of available fill from an RMS project on Spencers Cutting," the meeting was told.
"A petition was received February 10, 2018 from a resident on Rocks Ferry Road, Wauchope. Forty three signatures were provided on the petition.
"A letter was provided outlining the concerns of the signatories which were; the location of the grandstand; noise and lighting concerns related to the location of the grandstand and having the main entrance to the site from Stoney Creek Road away from the residences.
"Council is continuing to explore opportunities or alternatives to address these issues or to provide reasoning as to why they cannot be altered based on site and technical limitations."
