Their leaky defence was at it again on Saturday when they were overrun 4-0 in a clinical performance from defending premiers Wallis Lake.
Saints had their chances and didn’t take them, whereas the Football Mid North Coast Premier League’s top two side took theirs.
Coach Rubens Camejo said it was a simple game although his side was without the availability of more than five regulars.
“We’re up against teams that can play football and unless we get our act together we’re going to suffer these sort of defeats,” he said.
“Considering what we had on the park we did well.”
Camejo said Saints created about three or four of their own chances while Wallis created about double that, but they converted.
“They were too good and the score probably didn’t do us justice, but that’s football, you’ve got to take your chances or the other team does,” he said.
“I can’t fault the work-rate of this team, we just weren’t able to keep the ball as much as I wanted to and credit to Wallis Lake.”
Despite registering another heavy loss, the Saints coach felt his side was still improving.
“As much as the results aren’t showing it, football-wise we are improving,” he said.
“I had three under-16 players in our starting lineup and they are the future of the club.”
