Three hundred special guests were treated to a night of elegant celebration on Friday, May 11 for the unveiling of the stunning transformation of the landmark coastal resort Sails Port Macquarie by Rydges.

Launched by general manager Nick McLaughlin and his team, the refurbished facility is set to position Port Macquarie as a wedding and business events destination to be reckoned with on the east coast of Australia.

Greeted by a baby grand piano, cocktails, French champagne and oyster bar on arrival, guests experienced the stunning fruits of the extensive four and half year, multi-million dollar design and construction project to create this elegant Hamptons inspired coastal leisure, conference and event destination.

The glamorous celebration encompassed all of the superbly designed event spaces allowing guests to experience the work of Gold Coast based architects Hamilton, Hayes, Henderson Architecture who created a stunning fusion of two worlds with Hamptons inspired architecture blending seamlessly with the lush coastal surrounds.

From the impressive three storey grand atrium, featuring glass elevators and atrium bar, out to the effortlessly chic Boathouse Bar & Restaurant over the marina – guests sipped on Aperol cocktails and grazed on cheese and charcuterie as they basked in the warmth of the alfresco fire table.

Dignitaries and special guests included Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams, the Mattick, Salter and Barker families were all present with owner David Mattick praising the work of the design and construction team and heralding the space as the premier leisure and event between Sydney and the Gold Coast.
