Mackay will come just the fourth player in Port City Breakers history to play 100 ladies league tag games when she runs out onto Regional Stadium on Saturday.
Her opponents? Old Bar.
Mackay made her league tag debut in 2009 in a regular season match against Old Bar, before the Breakers went on to win the competition that year.
Their grand final opponents in that year? Old Bar.
So why did Mackay take the plunge into giving league tag a go?
“I used to play a lot of touch football and I was 16 at the time I took it up,” she said.
“A lot of my friends said ‘how about league tag’ so we all went together and started playing.”
She said the way the game was played in 2009 was different to the style of play teams utilise in the modern day.
“I remember the first game was a lot faster than it is now, but it was still enjoyable,” she said.
Jazzy Wilbow, Tegan Adkins and Kara Lewis are the only other Breakers league tag players to reach the 100 game milestone.
Adkins and Wilbow will be alongside Mackay this weekend when she also becomes a life member of the club.
“It’ll be good because I’ll get to play alongside them this weekend and we’ve played a bit together,” Mackay said.
“It’s just a good achievement; 100 games … I never saw myself as playing 100 league tag games ever.
“To do it with a great bunch of girls; I love it.”
Over the years, the Breakers and Pirates have created a healthy rivalry.
It’s a lot harder this year because I’ve found I’m a bit more nervous because anything can happen.

With the Breakers shooting for back-to-back premierships last year, who else stood in their way in a 10-4 win?
Old Bar.
Mackay admitted it had been difficult for her team to dust themselves off and go again this year.
“It’s a lot harder this year because I’ve found I’m a bit more nervous because anything can happen,” she said.
“We’ve got a heap of new girls and I’ve got a good feeling about this year, but you have to take each game as it comes.”
League tag kicks off at 11.30am on Saturday.
