RESIDENTS are invited to attend a family fun day and take the opportunity to give feedback on the draft Bonny Hills Community Plan.
The family fun day will take place at Rainbow Beach Reserve in Bonny Hills between 11am-1pm on Saturday, May 19.
The day will include live music, face painting and activities for the kids and a barbecue lunch.
The community is asked to ‘have your say’ on a draft Community Plan that will set a clear direction for the future of the popular seaside village.
Council director Jeffery Sharp said the Bonny Hills Community Plan could not have been developed without the input from local residents.
“The best way to ensure our towns and villages continue to grow, while maintaining their unique local culture is to work with the local community on a collective vision and blueprint for the future,” Mr Sharp said.
“The ideas put forward so far have been outstanding, and we’re now inviting the wider community to head down, take a look at the draft plan and let us know what you think.”
A Community Plan is a community-led blueprint which highlights the strengths and unique qualities of a local area and identifies the community’s aspirations for the future of their town/village.
It is designed to ensure aspects of a community such as its character, lifestyle, urban amenity, social image, economy and environment are maintained, and can be further developed in the future.
“Council thanks the Bonny Hills Progress Association and local residents for their input so far, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the fun day for a great day out,” Mr Sharp said.
The Bonny Hills Community Plan is a pilot for future plans to be developed in other communities across the local government area.
