The Rotary Club of Port Macquarie West is sponsoring the event this year.
District Commander, Superintendent Paul Fehon thanked the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie West for sponsoring the Police Officer of the Year awards for 2018.
“We are pleased to recognise the good work of our police and I encourage members of the community to nominate officers who have shown outstanding acts of courtesy, understanding, compassion, courage and devotion to duty and the community for the preceding 12 months,” Supt Fehon said.
There will be two categories – the Community Awards which are open to the public to nominate any police officer within the district; and the Peer Awards where police officers can nominate a colleague.
The successful nominees in the Mid North Coast Police District (MNCPD) will be presented with their award at the annual awards day on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Winners will also qualify for the NSW State Awards to be held in Sydney in November.
Members of the public are invited to nominate a police officer of their choice by completing the Community Awards Form. The nomination can be submitted by:
- Emailing the completed nomination form to mncpooty@police.nsw.gov.au
- Placing it in the box on the counter Port Macquarie, Kempsey or Macksville Police Stations
- Mail it to; Police Awards 2018 Insp Matt French Kempsey Police Station 5-9 Elbow Street, West Kempsey 2440.
Nominations are now open and close May 31.

The Mid North Coast Local Area Command includes the following police stations – Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Laurieton, Comboyne, Kempsey, South West Rocks, Gladstone, Bellbrook, Nambucca Heads, Macksville and Bowraville.
All police officers working in this Local Area Command are eligible for nomination.
