THEY may not be slogging it out over 226km for more than 10 hours, but Ironman Australia would not happen without the heart and soul of our volunteers.
Hundreds of people including school and community groups volunteered their time from 5am Sunday, May 6 right through until the final competitor came home.
Charles Sturt University students featured at medical stations while our local service groups manned the swim, bike and run leg offering food, drink and plenty of encouragement.
The local surf life saving clubs rallied together in a monster effort for the swim leg.
We live in an amazing community – well done.
