This weekend we’ll host the iconic Ironman event, seeing hundreds of athletes take on the gruelling test of stamina against the backdrop of our beautiful coastline. Whether it’s lining the streets to cheer on competitors, or as a volunteer, our community plays its part by creating a vibrant Ironman atmosphere. The Bright Night Run on Friday, has lights, music and fun for all. On Saturday morning, the popular Ironkids sees future champions join in the fun, as they cross the Ironman finish line. I wish all the best of luck for the main event on Sunday, and hope you and your supporters have the chance to relax and unwind when the event is over. Keep on recycling
You may have heard reports about China no longer accepting contaminated waste from other countries. This means Australian councils will need to make changes to their recycled waste management. We will continue our commitment to recycling. No recycled waste from our yellow bins will go to landfill. We’ll be working with other levels of government and local waste contractors on innovative ways to do more with our recyclable waste. We’ll be using recyclable materials in road base to ensure we are reusing all the waste we can. You can help by rinsing or cleaning your recyclables before it goes into our yellow bins. For tips recycling and which bin to choose at home, visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/bins.
