The three main topics addressed were the alleged sewerage spill from Saltwater Creek onto Rainbow Beach on Boxing Day December 26, 2017, the development application for lot 2 Beach Street Bonny Hills and the impact on Saltwater Creek, the current sewerage system and the environment, a reported incident at the exterior showers at Rainbow Beach and whether the community would be better served by an open ended screen.
The meeting was well attended and I would like to thanks those who attended and voiced their concerns.
The community would like to thank our Mayor Peta Pinson. Director of Infrastructure Alex Fisher and Clayton Michel, engineer in charge of Bonny Hill’s sewerage plant for their attendance and informative discussion.
We would also thank Leslie Williams, our State MP and resident of Lake Cathie, David Gillespie’s representative Brendan Seed, councillors Lee Dixon, Peter Alley, Sharon Griffiths for taking time out of their busy schedules to listen to our concerns.
The community looks forward to working with council and awaits council’s reply and corrective plans for the matters tabled.
