However, he was also confident that record numbers of people would attend both the dawn service and the traditional morning service.
This year marks the centenary of armistice.
"We have decided to not do anything different for this year's centenary of armistice," he said.
"Our two services are always very well attended and we believe that this is due to these events having a sole focus on remembering our fallen soldiers.
"We always receive great feedback from locals and visitors alike that having this focus really makes the Port Macquarie Anzac Day services the best and most remembered.
"Those people attending these services really do appreciate the significance of the day. Of course, we will have two guest speakers for each of the services.
"Hastings Secondary College's Nathan Barnett will present the commemorative address at the dawn service while St Josephs Catholic College school captain Elizabeth Pike will be delivering the speech at the main address."
Mr Laird said with the local contingent of World War II veterans not getting any younger, plans for the day would include a marquee specifically for their use.
"These soldiers will be highly visible to everyone and people can acknowledge them for their service," he said. Mr Laird said more of their ageing veterans required vehicles to attend and participate in the parade and services.
