Wauchope Hockey Club hosts come and try day

Wauchope Hockey Club this week has successfully launched their 2018 Hockey in Wauchope Program with the first of their 3 Free Come & Try/ Registration Days aimed at 4 – 11 year olds.

President Glen Pursehouse was thrilled with the turnout this week with 70 per cent of the kids that turned up having never picked up a stick before.

“It’s so great to see this program is still being validated by the community,” Pursehouse said.

“It wasn’t just a one hit wonder when we launched it last year and we are still receiving positive feedback and support for this program.”

“We want to continue to provide an option for parents who don’t want to travel to Port or all over the Hastings area for their kids to play sport.”

Wauchope Hockey Club’s program is sticking with the “One time, One place, No travel” concept – providing a new sporting option that will be played in Wauchope at the same field (Landrigan Park) at the same time (4.30 – 6pm) every week.

It is a concept many of the parents at the come and try day appreciated.

This program is aimed at kids aged between four and 11 years of age and the season will be starting in early May.

For those wanting more information check out one of the two remaining free come and try days on March 19 and March 26 at Landrigan Park from 4.30pm.
