The expo will be held at Panthers Port Macquarie between 9am to 2pm.
It is a great opportunity for retirees, or those about to retire, to access information on activities and services available to seniors across the region.
More than 80 organisations and community groups will exhibit at this year’s expo, providing information on retirement communities, social clubs, travel opportunities, health and wellness and government services.
Council group manager Lucilla Marshall said this year’s Seniors Expo will be the biggest ever held in our region.
“Whether you’re a long term resident, have just moved to the area or are have recently retired, this year’s expo will include an extensive range of exhibits all under one roof, and best of all it’s completely free,” Ms Marshall said.
The Seniors Expo will also include performances by the U3A folk dancers, Meals on Wheels food tastings, Panthers Bridge Club demonstrations and free blood pressure testing.
Local seniors attending the expo are also invited to take part in the council’s community inclusion plan survey.
Participants can receive a free photo booth souvenir for providing input on how the council can make our communities more inclusive for all ages.
The Port Macquarie-Hastings Sensational Seniors Expo is part of the NSW Seniors Festival, the largest celebration for people over 60 in the southern hemisphere, running from April 1 to 10.
It is an opportunity for older adults to try new things, meet new people and share their stories, skills and experiences.
“Our Seniors Expo celebrates and recognises the role that seniors play, and the contributions they make to the community, and I encourage anyone looking to make the most out of their retirement in our beautiful region to attend this year’s event,” Ms Marshall said.
