For the fifty 57th time in 59 years Beverley Park Golf Club visited Port Macquarie Golf Club and went home without the shield that the two clubs play for.

On the other two occasions the matches were drawn.
The two clubs do battle twice a year, once at each club, and the relationship between the two clubs is Australia’s longest running reciprocal visit where each club visits the other each year.
There are longer running reciprocal visits but in those cases they meet once a year with the venue alternating.
Port Macquarie won by 12 matches to six with one match drawn.
The best Beverley Park team was Greg and Joel McKinley with a best ball score of 42 stableford points. Dean Pearce and Daryl Parker was next best with 40 points.
Mick Pollock and Mark Guild had the best score for the Port team with 43 points, one more than Mick McIntosh and Daniel Constable.
The Denis McNamara and Neville Smith Trophy for the biggest winning margin was won by Sam Hutchison and Mick Couper with a margin of ten points.
Saturday’s regular club competition went to John Heslin and John Dorrington with 43 points on a countback from Roy Wilkinson and Steve Purcell.
Evan Berger had a one under par round and he teamed with Peter Liddy to take the scratch score with 37 points.
Nearest to the pins went to Rod Noble, Neville Smith (BP), Mark Rose and Ben Hamilton, and Trent Gordon made an eagle two at the par four 10th hole.
A four man ambrose was played on Sunday with each team consisting of two players from each club.
The winning team was made up of Kevin Underhill, Aaron Barr, Shane Tritton and Nick Conditsis and they had a net score of 54 ¼. Chris Dixon, Matt Millar, Dave Harris and John Galluzzo took the runners up prize with 57 1/8.
The scratch score went to Rowan Cooper, Brad Cobb, Kerry Lewis and Phil Alexander with nine under par, and the nearest to the pins were won by Shane Tritton, Tim Whitely, Mick Pollock and Cade Smith.
Following the welcome dinner on Friday night, at which Ryley Batt gave an excellent address, the two clubs did battle at various indoor sports.
The results finished exactly the reverse of last time with Beverley Park winning the pool, darts and euchre while Port’s sole win was at carpet bowls.
Port Macquarie will visit Beverley Park in November.
