Great granddaughter Amanda, described Gertrud as a kind and lovely women who would do anything for anyone.
“She is and always has been a wonderful, caring, kind, honest, generous person who also cherishes time spent with her family,” Amanda said.
“She would also go above and beyond to do anything for the people that she loves and is very much loved by all that know her and we are all blessed that she is apart of our lives.”
Amanda said that some of Gertrud’s favourite things are spending time with her family and being by the ocean.
“Since we moved to Port Macquarie my great grandmothers favourite thing to go is to go to the beach and be surrounded by family and friends,” she said.
“This weekend the whole family is coming together to celebrate her 100th birthday at a party in Lake Cathie which will be a lovely day and something I know she will love.”
