70 seniors did just that at the Port Macquarie Senior Citizens’ Club on February 14 at a cabaret ball where dancers were dressed in black tie and let go on the dance floor.
Marjie Utley the president of the club said it was the must be at event for the club.
“For the ball we had sold out of tickets in advance which just goes to show how excited people were about coming out for the event,” Mrs Utley said.
“It was black tie so everyone was dressed really nice and I think we all have a fantastic time.”
At the ball the seniors spent the night ballroom dancing with dances participating in up to 70 traditional dances with people coming from Taree, Kempsey and across the Hastings to participate.
Dancer partners Ian Groves and Marjorie Williams said the night was all about having fun and practicing their moves.
“We love dancing, it keeps out mind and body active and it is such great fun to be around happy people,” Mr Groves said.
“We come to dance classes during the week so it was fun to see if the lessons had worked.”
