Tenor drummer Jim Turnbull said there were various reasons why people joined a pipe band.
Some people have Scottish heritage and others do not.
The band consists of pipers and drummers.

The Glasgow-born Mr Turnbull said he just loved playing in the band.
“I get an enormous buzz out of it,” he said.
The band can be heard on the Town Green from 6pm on the first Monday of the month.
Every other Monday at 6pm, the band rehearses at St Joseph’s Primary School.
Potential drummers and pipers are welcome to attend.
Mr Turnbull also hopes to attract former members of a pipe band to join.
“There must be a bunch of ex-pipe band members who have retired to Port Macquarie and would like to reconnect,” Mr Turnbull said.
“It doesn’t matter how old or young they are.”
More information can be found at the band’s Facebook page.
Anyone interested in joining should contact Terry Crossley on 0408 414 510 or Jim Turnbull on 0418 677 474.
