Dietitian Jodie Kennett said Australia's first Smart Eating Week, which starts on Monday February 12, is designed to help residents start eating better.
"Remember that healthy eating doesn't need to be hard; you just need to make a start, no matter how small it is," she said.
The straight-forward message also includes taking the opportunity to connect with an accredited practising dietitian for practical, evidence-based and personalised nutrition advice and support.
"Let's face it, because we are all unique, with our own health challenges, goals, and lifestyles, 'smart eating' will mean different things to different people, and how we go about achieving it will be different too," she said.
"That's where guidance and support from an accredited dietitian comes in. You can trust our advice.
"Smart eating is about learning what you need to eat and then learning from someone qualified to help you on that path."
Ms Kennett said not to worry about New Year's resolutions; use Smart Eating Week to guide you toward better health.
To mark Smart Eating Week, Mrs Kennett and her business partner Lucy Johnston, will be conducting a free stall at their Begonia Place, Port Macquarie business.
The dietitians are encouraging residents to drop in between 9am and 4pm from February 12 to 16 where they can pick up healthy recipe ideas and find information to help meet your individual nutritional needs.
"We will also have recipe books as well," Ms Kennett said. "You can also search for us on Facebook (JKHealthcare) and Instagram (JKHealthcare1) where we will be posting daily recipes, advice and information."
