Port Macquarie-Hastings Council infrastructure director Alex Fisher said the upgrade started in October and continued to progress positively.
“Current focus of the works includes service relocations, including telecommunications, water mains and street lighting works,” she said.
The upgrade, which spans about 300 metres, will improve Lake Road traffic flow and safety.
The project’s cost is about $2.4 million.
Work includes duplication of the road, kerb and guttering, signs and line marking, utility adjustments, water main replacement and lighting and stormwater upgrades.
Wet weather has impacted the project, which in turn impacted the project schedule.
