The workshop was designed to help student artists develop musically, manage their image and learn skills to improve their song writing ability, according to Mr Rose.
“We started by warming up and getting into the creative mood by running through exercises that professional musicians use during their everyday life.
“The workshop was about honing into what influences them and using that in the creation and writing of songs,” Mr Rose said.
More than 17 kids took part in the workshop which was held at the Port Macquarie Youth Hub on Horton Street, in collaboration with BU Coaching according to organiser Andrew Lord.
“The reason we wanted to put on a workshop like this one, was we wanted to help young people get closer to their dreams and for them to take action to develop their confidence and to be the best they can be,” Mr Lord said.
Budding musicians were also encouraged to bring their instruments to the workshop which ended in a group concert using techniques that they learned on the day.
