TWENTY seven crews from nine clubs took part in round six of the North Coast Surf Boat Series held at Old Bar for the first time.
Taree Old Bar Surf Club was granted the round after logistical problems caused by school holiday crowds ruled out Port Macquarie. Club president Judy Muscio said the round was a success and confirmed Taree Old Bar will apply to host the boats again next summer.
Woolgoolga leads the open men’s pointscore after round six on 59 points from Tugun Rebels on 51 and Kempsey Crescent Head on 47.
Woolgoolga is on top of the open women’s division with 60 points from Kempsey-Crescent Head on 57 and Taree Old Bar on 32.
The next round of the series will be at Bonny Hills in a fortnight.
