Miedecke Motors launched its Giving Tree appeal earlier in the month, and with the support of Settlement City, suppliers and Miedecke’s valued customers, Santa was able to deliver special gifts for every age from infants to teenagers.
Acting Nursing Unit Manager Nicole Leith gratefully accepted the gifts on behalf of her patients, as well as children who will be cared for in the Emergency Department over the holiday period, and youngsters requiring physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
“I am constantly amazed by the generous people in our community who support our hospital and our patients,” Ms Leith said.
“The gifts will be very welcome by those children who visit the Emergency Department or stay in hospital over the Christmas period. It’s also lovely to have Santa visit, and share some Christmas cheer.
“Our sincere thanks to the Miedecke Motor Group, its customers, suppliers and Settlement City for doing something very special for our youngsters.”
Miedecke Sales Manager Josh Little thanked everyone who had supported the Giving Tree appeal.
“I think everyone understands that at this time of year children in particular are very excited about Christmas. Hospital is probably not where they want to be, but we hope these gifts make their stay a little special.”
Settlement City Centre Manager Brett Varcoe said the shopping complex has a long-standing association with Santa and it was a pleasure to organise such an important visit.
