Heading into day five of their national campaign on Thursday, the girls team were one win from a final and two wins from claiming an Australian crown.
They started the first game of their tournament with a hard-fought 50-46 win over Berwick College, before they went down to Hillcrest Freshmen 44-40.
They recovered from the first loss of the titles with a 51-34 victory over Caroline Chisholm Green.
On day three they split their games against Bendigo South East College (44-36 win) and Marby Jets (66-30).
A further win over St Luke’s on Thursday morning (48-33) sent them into a semi-final against Berwick College.
At the time of going to press it was not known how that match played out.
Coach Jason Berry admitted before the tournament it would be a tough task for his team to come out on top.
“To be honest it will be extremely difficult (to win),” he said at the time.
“We will be up against schools that run basketball academies, take basketball scholarships and that kind of thing.”
