In its 11th year this year, Christmas under the Stars looks set to be the biggest and best carols night the Hastings has ever seen, with a fun filled family event planned for December 10 at Westport Park.
Jenny Edmunds, community and sports manager at The Westport Club said the event is set to be a cracking night of carols and fun.
“When Christmas under the Stars began we had about 400 people turn out to sing and celebrate Christmas, but these days we are seeing nearly 6,000 people come which is really incredible.
“Christmas under the Stars is one of my favourite days of the year; for me it signifies that Christmas is almost here but it also demonstrates the incredible community spirit our region has and the support we give to such events.
“The event really showcases our local talent, including Sing Australia, Riley Page and Telegraph Point Public School and Port Macquarie Performing Arts, along with our headline act this year Deni Hines,” Ms Edmunds said.
Ms Edmunds said that it was a chance for families, friends, neighbours and colleagues to come together and really celebrate as the Hastings community.
The event is open to the everyone and people come from far and wide to enjoy in Christmas Song. It only costs $2.00 per person entry to enjoy the amazing atmosphere and activities.
“On the night there will be rides, face painting and a jumping castle for the kids along with a variety of food and drink stalls.
The event is put on by The Westport Club, for the community to keep the Christmas tradition alive and in support of The Salvation Army Christmas Hamper Appeal.
“People from all over come for Christmas under the Stars and I think it is a great way for everyone to stop and relax, and make this time of year special by coming together and enjoying our beautiful foreshore which makes an amazing backdrop to the entertainment.
“Oh and don’t forget the fireworks at 9pm.”
Christmas under the Stars is on December 10. Gates open at 4:30pm and entertainment starts at 5:30pm.
